Autumn Equinox (Poem)
At the end of this day
I gently bow my gaze
To meet the horizon and setting sun
That casts its longer shadows onto everyone
As its glow turns more golden
And the leaves do too
And we step into another phase
An autumn new
This day was as long as shall be the night
An equilibrium of dark and light
A time of inbetween
A time of balancing
A time of harvesting
A time of reaping
And so I gather dreams
And nuts shall fall to become tree seeds
As we head into the winter season
Embracing change with intuition and reason
A turning of the wheel
A cyclical page that with the weather we feel
And whilst fruits have fallen and no longer show
The root vegetables still will grow
And home fires will be burning
As we look within to assess what we’ve been learning
